Not everyone believes in a divine power, but I do. This isn’t meant to be religious, nevertheless, some of my thinking will come from my beliefs.
Why rules? Every society needs them. If not for the rules (laws), there would be anarchy. Think what would happen if we were to kill indiscriminately or steal whatever and whenever we desired!
To live in communities where some type of control exists, we are taught to know it’s wrong to harm others, whether directly or indirectly. Acceptable behavior matters!
Etiquette is a set of socially designed rules which are meant to aid us in maintaining order and sophistication. The most important part is learning to love others as we love ourselves. In doing so, we are able to show respect.
It’s not as complicated as some may believe. Love goes a long way in making lives happier and healthier. It stabilizes a rocky society and ensures coexistence. So, let’s leave it at that for today. “Love thy neighbor as thyself”.
